June 15-16, 2010

So, it has come to my attention through word of mouth that more people read my blog than I thought! If you feel like leaving me a comment to let me know that you're reading, it'd be much appreciated!

Sorry, I got lazy last night...

Tuesday 6/15:

The girls went to daycare today, so I don't have a whole lot of pictures. I went to a meeting at work this morning (yes, teachers sometimes work in the summer), brought Michael lunch at his new school (he was working in his classroom) and then came home and made some phone calls and emails about job opportunities. No news yet, but I'm still looking. Michael went to a concert tonight, so it was just me and the girls once I picked them up. Dylan was exhausted! She ate dinner and went straight to bed. Scout helped me feed the animals outside. She carried the hose over to give the dogs water and helped me hose them down to cool them off. In the process, we both got pretty wet! Here she is with her water hose

Taking a drink

Here are the lemons from our tree that she took off. Grrr! We only had three on there and she took 2! I'm guarding that last one carefully.

When we came inside and got her pajamas on, she ate a candy bracelet and then went to bed. I played around on facebook, watched some basketball, read the rest of my book, and went to bed. Michael got home sometime after I fell asleep. :-)

Wednesday, June 16

This morning I actually woke up before the girls and took a shower. By the time I got out, I could hear them giggling and talking to each other. I went in and this is what I found

I'm not sure if you can tell, but Scout threw everything (pillow, blanket, animals) on the floor and had taken her pajamas off. She giggled at me and said, "I poop, mommy!" *sigh*

Later this morning, we met my friend, Shannon, and her daughter, Clara, at the library to see the firetrucks. Clara will be 1 next month. The plan was to bring both kids, but Dylan took a 3 hour nap this morning that threw a kink in that plan. After M's late night, he was more than happy to stay home with her.

Here they are in the library

Trucks

This is fireman Snapp. He showed us the big truck and all of its gadgets. He even let the kids get in!

We got to see some of the cool tools the firefighters use to get inside houses

Hi again, Clara and Shannon!

This is the BIG looooong hose that they use for fighting the fires (Under the tarp)

It was only about 10:30, but it was getting hot!

That bit of pink behind the little girl is Scout on the firetruck!

We got to see all of the cool stuff in the ambulance, too.

Shannon and Clara came to our house and played for a little while and then they went home so Clara could have a nap and Scout took one, too. Mommy and daddy actually got to eat lunch before Dylan woke up. :-)

This afternoon we took back Michael's father's day gift (a Wii and some games) and put that money with some that he had saved to get him a new laptop. Yay!!! That means he won't be using mine anymore. Tonight we went to Braums for dinner and ice cream. The girls were very excited about it.

I realized I haven't had any good bathtime photos in a while, and who doesn't love a good bath picture?

Dylan's towel is a frog

Scout's is a bunny

After our bath, Scout has started helping me put the dirty clothes in the hamper and pick up the wet diapers.

Such a big girl!
