Cleaning House

Well, the summer is coming to an end and that means things are about to get crazy busy in the Stephens household. The girls will be going back to daycare and we will be going back to work. So, in this last week before we go back, we're cleaning house! There are some organization projects we're working on, too. All of this must be done by Thursday when my parents arrive for a visit with the girls. That's right. I know they're coming to visit the girls and not me, and I'm just fine with that! They've offered to babysit while they're here to let us go out one evening or go shopping or something. We haven't decided what to do yet.

Yesterday Michael tackled the living room and I cleaned out the fridge. Today, I did the upstairs bathrooms and he rearranged the kitchen shelves/ drawers. I sorted through Scout's toys in the living room and rearranged them a little bit. Michael came into the living room and said, "Take a picture, because you know it won't last!" So I did, and it didn't.

All played out

Scout has been waking up earlier and earlier (think 4:30AM!) lately. We think it has something to do with her molars that are coming in, but she also doesn't get much exercise. So, we decided to play all day yesterday! We went to Jacob and Melissa's house and played there with Noa and all of her toys. Then we all went to the Galleria Mall and played on their play area. The girls had a blast. Scout climbed and slid and crawled and ran... Then we went to Chucky Cheese's! Where they ate pizza, climbed, slid, crawled and ran. Both of our girls fell asleep on the way home and didn't wake up until 7:30 this morning! Here are a couple of pictures from the day

We also got a video of Dylan rolling over but I can't figure out how to post it... it's uploaded onto photobucket but when I try to put it in here, it says "tag is not closed" Can anyone help me with that???

Dylan's surgery

To make a very long story short, we found out last Thursday that Dylan needed to have surgery to remove a part of her hymen that was blocking her urethra. Apparently, this is a common problem in premature babies and although it hasn't caused any problems yet, it could in the future. We had to take care of this before we could test her for the urinary reflux problem so, surgery it was. Things went fine and we all survived. They took care of Dylan's problem and checked her out... she does have the reflux, but not as severe as Scout's. The doctor wants to keep her on antibiotics and recheck her in 6-8 months to see if she has improved any.

That being said, here are a few pictures from the day

In pre-op... she got a monkey from the surgery center

Fell asleep while we were waiting... the surgery was 1 1/2 hours later than scheduled and she was tired and hungry

She has been hungry and sleepy since we got home but we're all okay. Thanks for reading!

My big girl

Here are some pictures of my big girl walking around outside! She looked so grown up to me today, so when we went outside to play with the cats and walk around some I brought the camera. I spent a lot of time trying to keep rocks from the driveway out of her mouth... my attempts were not always successful!

Pretty sure she was trying to be a kitty here

I also posted these on a pregnancy/parenting forum, which is the reason for the watermarkings. "Big S" Stands for Big Sis or Big Scout or Big Stephens... take your pick! There have been some weirdos there who copy people's pictures and claim them as their own, so the watermark is an attempt to stop that! If you ever see them again, you'll know why they're there.
