Okay, I didn't take it. We took the girls to Burger King and they played... well, Scout played and Dylan watched and squealed. There was a lady there with her two boys, they were 10 and 6. She was very chatty and we talked for a while. That kind of thing annoys Michael, but I love talking to strangers. He was pleasant enough. Her boys were so sweet. They said they would watch Scout in the play area and they helped her climb for a while.
We came home and I had a message on my phone (I had left it at home). It was a nurse from the after hours clinic where we took Dylan last week. When we picked the girls up today, the folks at the daycare said that Dylan woke up with a low fever (101ish) a few minutes before we got there. By the time we bought dinner, she felt normal again. My girls just get hot when they sleep - especially when they have a blanket on them. Anyway, apparently the daycare director called the clinic to ask about their policies on when kids with fevers can return... it was all a misunderstanding about what she had (double EI) and what Scout had last week (undetermined fever and given antibiotics that would cover several things). So now I am trying to decide how to approach this with daycare and if I should at all. I mean, the nurse said the director called and was kind of attacking the clinic - not us. But she wasn't 100% comfortable with the call and wanted to check with me... I dunno. I really like the people at the daycare, but they are always saying our kids are sick. I know it's policy that they can't come to school with a fever because of possibly infecting others, but I don't think it's actually a fever half the time. *sigh*
Well, that's been my evening. The day wasn't exciting at all so I won't bore you with details. :-)
