We had a lazy play-around-the-house day today. Scout painted this morning while Dylan was napping. You can really tell what it is! She painted a sun, clouds, grass, and flowers. It's hanging up on the refrigerator now and she will point it out to you every time she sees it.
They were snacking on their couch and I went to take a picture... the look on Dylan's face cracks me up! It's li
Thursday 7/29:
Today the girls were at day care today and mommy and daddy were busy little bees! We got almost the entire living room painted, and the furniture put back in the room. Michael painted the fan and we changed out the light shades. I picked up these at Home Depot. I also went to the eye doc and got new contacts. My prescription hasn't changed at all in 3 years, so that's good.
When the girls came home, we kept them out of the living room for most of the night. Here are some fabulous eating pictures. They're so messy!
Friday 7/30:
Well, we still had part of the floor left to paint today, so I took the girls out for a while as soon as we woke up and Michael stayed home to finish the painting. First, we went to the park. I don't know if you can tell, but the girls are holding hands here. So cute!
Scout got way ahead of us... this is the bridge from the parking lot to the park area.
Here we are playing. Scout pouted when I told her it was almost time to go.
Next, we stopped for donuts. Scout showed me her chocolate one
Dylan had a mouth full and showed me anyway.
We came home and had naps, ate lunch, and all got in the car to run errands. We spent too much time and money at Half Price Books and Ikea. We went to the Chinese Buffet and the girls had jello for dessert. Here is Scout's really BIG jello!
It didn't matter how much jello we put in front of Dylan - she crammed it all in her mouth!
Jello monster!
Tonight I bathed the girls and while I was putting Dylan's pajamas on, I heard Scout say, "Somebody pooped in here!" She was still in the tub. I popped my head in, preparing to have some major cleaning to do, and she smiled at me and said, "Naaaaah! Just kidding, mommy!" What a sense of humor she has.
Saturday 7/31:
While I was making breakfast, I hear "Where are Scout and Dylan???" Can you guess where they were?
Here is what our entertainment center looks like now - we got the boxes at Ikea. You can also get an idea of the colors we used. I'll try to take more pictures of the room tomorrow or next week.
In addition to the living room, we also bought two shelves to put the girls' toys in. One for downstairs and one for their room. They don't do much playing in their room right now because it's so hot during the day, but things will cool down soon enough and they'll do more playing up there. In the process of organizing their toys, we "rediscovered" some toys. The girls now have a drawer of dress up clothes on their new shelves. Scout wanted to be a fairy princess. Isn't she adorable!
Here are the new shelves upstairs
We got out all of the plastic food and pots and pans and played with her kitchen
Look at the little chef!
Mr and Mrs Potato Head came back
Sweet girl!
Scout was quite a chatterbox all day today. I don't think she stopped talking AT ALL except to sleep. It was cute at first, but by dinner time, I was ready to get the duct tape! lol! And here I am... blogging. Hope someone is reading!
