July 12-14, 2010

Monday 7/12/10:

Today daddy made bread pudding and the girls enjoyed it so much! So did mommy and daddy.

Scout started flipping off the big couch and onto her little couch. She did this 15 times at least!

She kept saying she was cold so we gave her a blanket while she was laying on her couch. She decided she wanted to wear it around the house.

Of course, as I was taking pictures of Scout, Dylan wanted in on the action. She's become such a ham! Every time the camera comes out, she gives this big grin and says "cheese!"

Tuesday 7/13/10:

Tonight I went out for my friend, Shannon's, birthday. We went to a fondue place for happy hour. I was the only one who doesn't drink, but alcohol isn't the only thing that was on sale... We had cheese pots and (my favorite) chocolate desserts. This was our plate of things to dip.

This is the yin yang chocolate pot... dark and white chocolate. Yum!

This is the s'mores pot.

And here's why I pack a Tide pen in my purse. Lol! I felt like Kelly Rippa. Shannon needed it.

And so did Cinnamon, later!

After dinner we went to see "Grown Ups." I expected it to be sort of funny, predictable, and mildly amusing. It was predictable for sure, but hilarious and quite entertaining. Maybe it's because I saw myself and my friends in the characters or maybe it was the low expectations but I would recommend it. :-)

Wednesday 7/14/10:

This morning, Scout and I went to the last story time at the library for the summer. I didn't realize they would stop so early in the summer, but we'll be out of town next week, anyway. Scout made a "monster face" over and over there - I thought it was hilarious.

After lunch and naps, we went back to the natatorium and swam. We met Shannon and her daughter, Clara, there and had a good time. Here's Scout in her towel afterward. The pool itself is really cool, but it's hard to take pictures with two girls who have no fear in the water but no sense of balance, either! lol!

When we got home. I was moving my camera and Dylan saw it. Here's that "cheese" face again!

Scout wanted in on the camera action, so here they are together.

That's one downside to taking a picture a day - the girls are getting way to used to having their pictures taken! In the guest room, we have our old mattress leaned up against a wall because we have no other place to put it right now. Tonight when I took Scout through to get her bath, she said she wanted to go night night. I told her I knew she was tired, but we could go to bed after our bath. She said, "No. I go to sleep right here." and she leaned against the mattress and started making snoring noises. I had my phone in my pocket and snapped this picture. Silly kid is getting a sense of humor!

Tonight I went out the to the barn to feed the kittens (who still run from us, but are still out there) and saw this... the grasshoppers have gotten crazy this year. I don't remember them ever being this numerous! I am sure this isn't too out of the ordinary, but I thought it was really cool. I guess one of the hoppers shed his exoskeleton to get some more growing room.

And as I was walking back to the house, I noticed these sunflowers in the sunset. Beautiful, no?
