What to do at home with the flu

So, you may be wondering, "What do you do with a toddler who has the flu?" Well, here's what we did!

We played with blocks

We had naked baby dancing time! (There was dancing right before this picture - I promise!)

Fun with paper towel rolls

We colored - not sure what she's doing with her left hand here... looks broken!

Scout has really missed Dylan. I tried to separate them as much as possible so there was less of a chance for passing the flu to D. D's been sleeping in the pack n play in the guest room and when Scout wakes up and looks in Dylan's empty crib, she asks about her. She was also highly upset with me for not letting her play with "Diddle" yesterday evening. So sweet!!!

The flu found us

Scout was diagnosed with influenza type A today... the doc said most cases right now are H1N1. I will not freak out. I will not freak out. I will not freak out. I will not freak out. I will not freak out.

For now, we're keeping the girls as separate as possible and hoping Scout is the only one who gets it and she recovers quickly. The doc said it looks like we caught it early so hoping the tamiflu works quickly!

No cry

I was cleaning up after Scout's dinner last night and Dylan was fussing in the pack n play. Scout kept saying, "No cry. No cry. Sis-sis. No cry." She was coming in and out of the kitchen and I thought she was trying to get my attention. After I cleaned up, I went into the dining room to find this:

Scout? What are you doing? Filling the pack n play with toys, of course!

Land of the Weird

Strange happenings at the Stephens household today...

Scout started drooling last night. I'm pretty sure it has to do with some teeth that are trying to come in. I picked her up from daycare today and her shirt was soaking wet. I asked if she had spilled something on her shirt and they said no, it was drool. Well, I didn't believe them. I thought maybe she spilled something when they weren't looking. I took the shirt off of her when we got home and within 5 minutes, she was wet down to her pants! Weird!

Silly girl

Michael noticed a tiny pile of dirt yesterday in a doorway and mentioned it. Today, I noticed 4 or 5 ants crawling around a now bigger pile of dirt - they were trying to build a mound in our house!!! Weird!

Bear pictures

I've been taking a picture of Dylan next to the same care bear every month to show how much she's grown. Here's the pic from 1 month, 3 months, and 6 for comparison. :-)

6 months ago I was waiting to be told that I could get out of bed to go see my precious new baby in NICU. She was so tiny and fought for every breath that she took. I spent the whole day (and several weeks after) praying that she would grow strong and healthy. My prayers were answered! Just look at my sweetie pie now...

Scout has grown up so much in that time, too! She wasn't even walking when Dylan was born. Where does the time go?
