Day 32, 333 to go

POD

Well, it's actually Tuesday, but since I didn't get around to Monday's post, I thought I'd share now. Yesterday started off like a normal, boring Monday. Around 9:30, daycare called and said that Dylan was coughing pretty bad but had no fever. They just wanted to let me know. They had told me on Friday that a little boy in her class had gone home sick and the parents called to let them know it was RSV. I said thank you and decided to take her to the after hours clinic that evening to see what they thought. 30 minutes later they called and said now she had a fever and was wheezing. I asked if it would be okay if I waited until lunch to leave (about 45 min) so that I would only be penalized half a day at work instead of a full day. They agreed. 15 minutes later they called back and said that they put her down for a nap and noticed that her little tummy was working really hard to breathe. They checked her pulse and it was racing. I called her doctor's office and reported all of this. They said that they could do an RSV test, but if it was positive and if she as as bad as it sounded, I would have to take her to the ER anyway for chest X-Rays and breathing treatments. So, I flew up to daycare to get her (thank goodness for light traffic and no cops!). We sat in the ER from noon to seven when they finally moved us to a room. They had let us know by 3 that she would need to stay the night for observation. Last night was torture. She was so uncomfortable and had an IV and heartbeat monitor on her so every time she tried to move, they would pull or come off. She wouldn't lay down in their crib, so she slept on my chest or in the bed next to me all night. I say slept. She dosed. And so did I. We made it through the night, though, and I am at work today. Michael stayed with her this morning and they have since released her. More on that in todays post... tonight. Until then...
