We went to Longview this weekend to visit some friends. We drove out after work on Friday, so it was 10 or 10:30 by the time we got there. We put the girls in their jammies, changed diapers, and they went to bed. About 2:30 in the morning, Dylan started crying. We were tired and ready to let her cry herself to sleep for a few minutes, but then we heard her coughing and gasping for breath. To make a very long story short, we ended up in the ER with her where docs said she had croup. So scary!
She got a breathing treatment and some steroids and was feeling much better by about noon. We decided that going to the lake may not be the best idea, so we took a picnic and went to the park to play instead.
We had a great time until Scout slid down the slide with no one there to catch her and fell flat on her face! We're pretty sure she broke her nose, or at least cracked it a little. Poor baby! We didn't take her to the ER because we knew they wouldn't do much except stop the bleeding, take an X-ray, and put ice on it. We stopped the bleeding and put ice on it. No need for an X-ray.
Here she is a few hours later. Doesn't she look pitiful???
We decided to go ahead and drive home on Saturday night.
Sunday:
We all slept in a while after our travels and boo boos and illnesses. We played around the house for a while and the girls got their first tattoos! Scout got Belle
And Dylan got a heart
This afternoon we went to play with Noa. The girls and mamas played outside in the sprinklers while the daddies put new baseboards and a new chair rail in Noa's room. Aren't daddies great?
Monday:
Today we went to daddy's school and took some pictures on his stage. The girls loved seeing daddy's classroom and playing on the rehearsal blocks. The ham in Scout came out in full force and she started talking to an invisible audience. She kept saying, "Welcome to Fwiday ebeybody!" We got so many cute pictures! Here are just a few of them.
Tuesday:
Back to work after the long weekend... Scout got a little carried away with the yogurt at dinner.
Wednesday:
Storms rolled through and a tornado warning had me glued to the TV. No tornadoes here, but we got drenched for 3 days with rain!
Thursday:
The power went out about 3AM and the house alarm went off to let us know that it wasn't getting any power. Why does it always happen in the middle of the night??? We all got to get ready in the dark using candles and flashlights. The power came back on about the time that Michael left at 7. Great timing, eh? The girls thought it was lots of fun and Scout said it was an adventure!
This afternoon, the girls found old toilet paper rolls and were giggling and playing with them while I got their dinner ready. I asked them what they were doing and Scout said, "We're yooking for pirates, mommy!" and put the roll up to her eye. Dylan smiled and said, "Arrrrrrrr!"
Friday:
This evening, Scout and I spent some time playing outside.
Saturday:
I snapped a picture of Scout reading a book to Dylan.
Sunday:
The girls played in the pool outside tonight... it was NFL opening weekend, so that took up a lot of time. Lol!
