Thanksgiving!

Wow! It's been nearly a month since I've made a blog post here. Of course, I have been busy... I have been posting on my scrapbooking blog but sadly, this one has been neglected. So, here is what we did on this day of thanks.

This morning, Scout woke up early - first at 5:30 and then she got quiet until about 6:30. I'm guessing she went back to sleep. I managed to get in there and get her out without Dylan waking completely. We came downstairs and she saw it - her new Buzz table!

Soooo cool. Scout has become a little obsessed with Buzz in the last couple of weeks. I'm just glad there is more than one movie! lol! Daddy and Dylan got up soon and the girls hung out and played for a while.

Scout's getting over a tummy bug, so please excuse her tired look. She hasn't been herself for a few days. :-( The girls went down for morning nap and I helped Michael in the kitchen. I am so thankful for a husband who cooks! He was not happy about me taking his picture before he bathed, but here it is anyway.

Scout woke up first, and we went outside for a while to play... take note of how pretty her hair looks - it all goes downhill from here! She played with her shadow

... and was her usual cute, sweet self

When Dylan woke up, we hung out for a while and played while we waited for Melissa, Jake, and Noa to come over.

Hurray for good food and good friends! Lunch was fantastic - as were the leftovers for dinner later. ;-)

We sang some songs... "Ring around the rosie..."

"Where is thumbkin?"

While Michael and Jake played video games

Then Dylan took her afternoon nap (Scout skipped hers) and the big girls and mommies went outside to play. We played kickball

The cats tried to play, too. Noa was afraid of the cats for some reason...

The girls played on the swing...

and in the hammock

Then we decided to go to Old Navy.

The guys stayed home with Dylan and we found some good bargains. I got clothes for myself and the girls. :-) We came home and played some more.

See that thumb in Dylan's mouth? That means she's tired!

So, a little early, I bathed my girls and they went to bed without too much of a fuss. Melissa, Jake, and Noa stayed and had dinner and then they went home. As I was cleaning up in the kitchen, I felt a vibration. I thought Michael had knocked something over. Then he called to me and asked if I had heard that. We looked around trying to see what could have made the noise - it shook the whole house but since I had the dishwasher going and the water running in the sink, I thought it was something above the kitchen. It turns out, our neighbors lit a bonfire. That's right. They had a bonfire so big that lighting it shook our house. And woke Scout up. Sigh. I walked her around the house because she kept pointing to different rooms... I think she was trying to make sure everything was okay. It took a lot of convincing and rocking and another cup of milk, but she finally went back to sleep.

And so then I loaded pictures onto my computer, uploaded them to photoshop and a few to facebook and here I am!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, too!
